Breakfast is believed to be the most important meal of the day as it breaks the overnight fast and kick starts your metabolism and helps you body to burn calories throughout the day as well as preps the mind and body for your daily activity. Here at The Healthy Parent we are all about making healthy choices that are sustainable for your lifestyle so that you can be the best version of you for yourself and your family. We are also all about making sustainable and eco-friendly choices where possible so that we can have a positive impact on the world around us and leave it in the best condition we can for generations to come. Which is why we love Rude Heath.

What is Rude Health?

Rude Health was founded in 2005 by Nick and Camilla Barnard with the goal to create tasty and healthy breakfast options with nothing artificial or refined, just simple quality ingredients. They started with the Ultimate Muesli and quickly diversified, adding various muesli flavours to their brand along with a variety of granola and porridge oats too. And because all good cereal needs good milk they have also added dairy free milk alternatives to their product line which has now won them 23 great taste awards across their various offerings.

But like we said, here at The Healthy Parent we aren’t just about healthy options we are also interested in sustainability too which is where Rude Health has the edge over other breakfast creators as they are a B Corp certified company. Rude Health make 88% of their packaging from recycled materials, they are 100% palm oil free, have donated 34.4 tonnes of surplus food to Fareshare and donate a generous 5% of profits to charity.

With big commitments like these we felt we had to take them up on their offer of sampling their goods!

Rude Health Breakfast options

We were very kindly sent four boxes of cereal to try;

  • The Ultimate Muesli
  • Roasted Almond Granola
  • Ultimate Granola
  • Chocolate Crunch Granola

On first impression I was impressed. The presentation is good and I like how you can actually see the contents through the clear window in the packaging.

They are also clearly labelled with the nutritional values on the side so you can make sure you are enjoying them as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Over the course of a couple of weeks we tried all 4 boxes and didn’t find a single one we didn’t enjoy. Here’s how we ranked them but trust me when I say they are all delicious and worth trying for yourself.

  • Chocolate Crunch Granola
  • The Ultimate Muesli
  • Roasted Almond Granola
  • Ultimate Granola

The chocolate granola was a bot hit with the kids as it does taste nice and chocolatey and they loved how it turned the milk brown like milk shake! For me it was the fresh crunch on the granola and generous pieces of almond in the roasted almond one.

Along side the cereal we were also sent a carton of the brown rice milk and the coconut milk, both were very fresh in easy to open and easy to store cartons. Again we enjoyed both but my favourite was the coconut milk, it adds a lovely creamy texture and exotic taste to your breakfast. It worked extremely well with the the ultimate muesli and reminded me of holiday.

Overall we were very impressed with both the taste and the morals of Rude Health and would recommend them as brands to use on your Health Parent Journey. We can’t wait to see what other creations they come up with.
