turkey burger

If burgers are a firm favourite in your house but your’re trying to be a healthy parent and encourage your children to eat healthier too, then ditch the take away and pre made processed burger and have a go at making these delicious oriental turkey burgers instead.

These burgers use turkey mince instead of beef mince which is naturally lower in fat but still big on flavour, plus they have some hidden veggies in too! They are super easy to make and so tasty that you and the kids will love them and will want to make them time and time again.

You will need

  • 455g (1lb) ground turkey
  • 345g shredded broccoli
  • 1 tablespoon SKIPPY® Super Crunch Peanut Butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 6 (1/4-inch/6mm thick) slices tomato
  • 6 leaves iceberg lettuce
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds, if desired
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 wholemeal English muffins, split and toasted

  1. Mix the turkey mince, shredded broccoli, peanut butter and chilli in a bowl.
  2. Shape into 6 burger patties and place on a baking try.
  3. Cook the burgers in a preheated oven.
  4. Layer the tomato, lettuce and burgers on the bottom halves of the muffins. Cover with the top halves of the muffins and serve with salad.

These oriental turkey burgers are also delicious in summer cooked on a BBQ too.
