tropical smoothie

A great way to get more fruit and veg in to your diet and the diets of your children is by making smoothies. They look great, taste amazing and more often than not if you use a few over strong flavoured fruits that the children like you can add in a few extras that will go unnoticed too. This tropical smoothie is absolutely delicious and although we recommend the recipe below you can of course play around with it a bit to get a taste that works best for your own children.

You will need

  1. 1 fresh papaya
  2. 2 chopped bananas
  3. A handful of grapes, any colour
  4. A chopped apple
  5. 1 tea spoon of organic turmeric powder
  6. 250ml of coconut milk
  7. 1/2 a cup of ice cubes

Method

Chop all of the fruit in to small pieces and add to the blender along with the milk and the ice cubes.

Blend until you have the desired thickness. We recommend making sure it is completely smooth but some do prefer it with small pieces of fruit in it.

Serve in a tall glass and enjoy.

Notes

You can use any milk for this recipe but the coconut milk helps to make it taste like a tropical smoothie.

If you do not want your smoothie to be too cold reduce the amount of ice added.

If you are looking for a delicious and healthy snack to enjoy alongside the smoothie then why not try the healthy fruity flapjack recipe we love.
