The summer holidays are here, and with them come all the usual joys, impromptu meetups with friends, extra treats, ice creams, and quick bites on the go. It’s a fun, sociable time of year, but it can also feel tricky if you’re trying to make healthy choices. So we were delighted to find that Prezzo have some great tasting, healthy options on their menu this summer.

Here at The Healthy Parent, we believe in balance. We’re not about restriction, diet culture, or focusing on weight loss. Instead, we champion choices that nourish and energize, while still enjoying the occasional treat completely guilt free but finding places that allow us to make healthy choices that we actually want to eat can be difficult.

Last weekend we kicked off the summer holidays with a trip to Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and headed to Prezzo which is always a great option for a relaxed meal after a day of shopping or a casual catch-up with friends. The setting is stylish and welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for those rare sunny days!

The best part? Prezzo’s menu includes plenty of dishes that are both delicious and packed with goodness. Whether you’re after something light or craving a satisfying dessert, there are options that align with a more mindful, whole-food approach.

Here are some of our top picks that we tried at the weekend:

Hummus & Roasted Peppers – A tasty, shareable (or not) starter at just 460 calories

Goats Cheese & Roasted Pepper Salad – Fresh, flavorful, and only 305 calories

Affogato – A classic Italian coffee dessert that feels indulgent but comes in at just 155 calories

All three of these dishes are on the main menu but if you prefer to enjoy pizza and pasta when i an Italian restaurant and let’s be honest who would blame you? Then don’t worry you can still be mindful and order you favourites as smaller portions of some of the classics are available on the lunch time special menu, the same great flavour just smaller portions.

So if you’re looking for a place to enjoy a summer meal that ticks both the “treat” and “healthy” boxes, head to Prezzo. It’s a win for your taste buds and your wellbeing.
