nutri ice

Nutri-Ice is a handcrafted, nutrient-rich frozen supplement from My Doctor’s Recipe and it is quickly redefining what it means to indulge with intention. We were lucky enough to be sent some samples to try and below you can read our honest review.

What Is Nutri-Ice?

At first glance, Nutri-Ice looks like a premium ice cream. It comes in individually portioned pots complete with little wooden spoons that wouldn’t look out of place at the theatre.

However, those cute little pots contain a creamy powerhouse formulation. Each 100g tub packs over 300 calories and is enriched with DJK+®, a proprietary nutrient blend delivering over 30% of your daily Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) for key vitamins and minerals.

Each pot contains

  • Vitamin D – for bone health and immunity
  • Vitamin C – supports collagen production and immune defense
  • Calcium, Zinc, and Iron – critical for muscle, blood, and immune function
  • High-quality whey protein – promoting recovery, strength, and muscle growth

Nutri-Ice is free from artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, and emulsifiers, making it an ideal choice for clean-eating advocates.

It is important to point out that 300 calories for a small pot of pudding is high which is why although these are healthy and full of goodness they are not aimed at those looking for weight loss as part of their healthy parent journey, instead it was developed for people undergoing medical treatments, such as chemotherapy or surgery, who often struggle with appetite, digestion, and nutrient absorption.

The Taste Test: Does It Deliver?

Although we do not need Nutri-Ice for health reasons we always like to review things before we promote them to you and so we obviously had to do the taste test. I am pleased to say that unlike many functional foods that sacrifice flavour for nutrients, Nutri-Ice holds its own as a frozen treat. It’s creamy, full of flavour and very enjoyable, we particularly liked the cappuccino one.

We found them very easy to eat and they did feel like an ice cream treat and not a something that had been prescribed by a doctor. If you leave them out of the freezer for about 20 minutes prior to eating they slightly melt making them very easy to feed to yourself and easy to consume for those that might be struggling with solid food.

Overall we were very impressed with Nutri-Ice, they are the perfect size for an individual portion, taste delicious, come with a spoon so you can take them out with you on a short walk or in a freezer bag and are packed with goodness for those that need it. They are a fantastic alternative to the build up drinks often given to those who are too ill to eat enough or who are in recovery, very impressed.
