Coconut water is the clear, naturally sweet liquid found inside young coconuts. It’s refreshing, slightly nutty, and packed with electrolytes, often referred to as natures own sports drink. Coconut water has become increasingly popular over the last 10 years with more and more people reaching for it as a way to rehydrate after sport, revive after a night out or reenergise after illness, with others incorporating it into their their daily diet. A big contributing factor to the increase in consumption of coconut water is due to the development of the flavours with it now being available by numerous different brands in lots of different flavours making it a delicious drink as well as one with health benefits.
The Benefits of Coconut Water
1. Hydration Hero
Coconut water is rich in electrolytes like potassium, magnesium, and sodium making it a great post-workout drink, a hangover cure or a gentle pick-me-up after a hot day.
2. Low in Calories
Unlike fizzy drinks or fruit juices, coconut water is naturally low in calories and sugar.
3. Good for Your Heart and Muscles
Coconut water is high in potassium which helps balance out the sodium levels in your body and in turn supports healthy blood pressure and muscle function.
4. Natural and Simple
No artificial ingredients, no added sugars (if you choose the right brand) perfect for your healthy parent journey.
Rebel Kitchen Coconut Water
This week we have been testing out Rebel Kitchen Coconut Water, one of the most popular brands in the UK. Their coconut water is made from young green coconuts sourced from small farms in the Philippines and uses a process called High Pressure Processing (HPP) which keeps the taste and nutrients intact without the need for preservatives.

Review Rebel Kitchen Coconut Water
First up I also love that Rebel Kitchen’s coconut water is made from just one ingredient 100% organic coconut water and that there are no concentrates and no added sugar, it’s simply a healthy drink with no nasties that both us parents and the kids can enjoy.
I also love the fact it’s slightly pink, it makes it cute! Apparently this is due to the natural process of the antioxidants and electrolytes changing over time.
In terms of taste it’s great. If you know what to expect from coconut water then you will appreciate this one. If not then it’s slightly thicker than normal water but very smooth with a slight taste to it which edges towards the sweeter side but isn’t overly sweet. It’s easy to drink and genuinely just feels like a glass of water or juice as oppossed to something you have to take for health benefits.
Overall I was very impressed with this particular coconut water and I would buy it again
